Dear Magnolia School of Excellence Parents:
We are pleased to announce a transition in our 6-12 grade leadership for the 2018 – 2019 school year. Dr. Mary Nash Robinson, a highly respected member of the Shreveport educational community will be joining the Magnolia School of Excellence as principal for grades 6 – 12, beginning in her new position on June 18.
Dr. Robinson most recently served as Chief of Staff for the Caddo Parish School Board and interim superintendent of schools. She has extensive experience leading and motivating students, serving as a middle and high school assistant principal of instruction, and a summer and high school principal. Dr. Robinson is also frequently called upon to be a motivational speaker to young people and is active in a host of social and civic organizations in our community.
She earned her undergraduate degree in social science and speech education at Grambling State University and her master’s degree in educational supervision and administration from Louisiana State University. She also earned +30+ at LA Tech Northwestern and Centenary and her doctoral degree in Christian counseling/psychology at Louisiana Baptist University.
We believe that Dr. Robinson’s background and experience is the perfect fit to guide your students to reach their highest potential in academics and in life. Her leadership will build upon the enhanced programs we have established for middle and high school students, including our STEAM classes, honors classes and dual enrollment programs with local colleges and universities.
Dr. Robinson will work closely with Kim Derrick, principal of our K-5 grades to deliver excellence in education from your student’s first day to graduation day.
We will soon schedule a meet and greet event so that you can get to know her and learn about her vision for our students’ future. Thank you for your continued support of our school. We are looking forward to our fall semester being our best yet.
